Our Steering Group:
All Directors live in Eastertown and are committed to developing this initiative for the benefit of the local community and for generations to come. In order to ensure that our plans and activities meet with the approval and support of as many people as possible, it essential that we take the advice and guidance of a representative group from within the communities of Eastertown and Lympsham.
Our current steering group has members with diverse interests that include the archaeology and history of the villages, representatives of Ann Codman’s estate, nature, farming and environment and academic studies.
We are being assisted by students from the University of the West of England who have an interest in rural affairs and architecture. In due course, the project will seek involvement of people to represent the interest of children, young people and elderly residents, especially those with interest in agriculture, gardening and wildlife conservation.
The directors are particularly grateful to Helen and Patricia Brown, Colin Poole, Victoria Daintree, Geraldine Jones, Jim Bishop and Matt Small for their support and guidance during the early stages of the establishment of the company.
It is our desire to see wider representation on the steering group throughout the period in which we will seek to purchase the land that will become Eastertown Common. Steering group meetings are held monthly and if you wish to attend to find out more about the project, please contact us by email or telephone.
Members of the steering group are:
• The Directors – who are all local residents
• Helen Brown and Patricia Brown – to help see their aunts wishes come true
• Colin Poole – Eastertown resident with archaeological/historical knowledge)
• Matt Small – architect student (and representing the team at UWE who will lead on engagement and developing a design for
local residents to ‘see’ and fine tune.)
• Representatives of focus groups
So please let us know what you think and if you would like to be considered for the current vacancies we have. There will lots of opportunities to have an input and fine tune plans to get it as good as we can and keep everyone happy.
